Chairman : Adrian Stenson

Adrian is General Manager of Chas A Blatchford & Sons Ltd, with responsibility for Orthotic and Prosthetic Services in the UK. He qualified as an Orthotist in 1986 and has worked in both the commercial sector and directly for the NHS.

Treasurer : Duncan Ferguson

Duncan is Director of Orthotics at Peacocks Medical Group, and a practising orthotist in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of ISPO UK and an active member of the BAPO Finance Committee. Duncan was appointed as a Trustee in January 2005.

Steve Hutchins

Steve is Senior Lecturer in Orthotics at the University of Salford and a registered orthotist with HPC having graduated as an orthotist in 1978. He obtained an M.Sc in Orthotics by research in 1997 for the design of prototype orthotic knee joints to be used in prophylactic knee bracing.

 

Garth Johnson

Garth is Professor of Rehabilitation Engineering at Newcastle University's School of Mechanical & Systems Engineering. He co-founded the Centre for Rehabilitation and Engineering Studies (CREST, www.ncl.ac.uk/crest) in 1991 and this has developed a major research reputation in the fields of upper limb biomechanics and associated problems of neurological rehabilitation. He has published widely in major biomechanical and rehabilitation journals.

Paul Keeping

Paul is currently an independently employed orthotist, having been employed previously by one of the country's leading orthotic contractors and also by the NHS as Director of Orthotics at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital Oswestry.

 

Christopher Morris

Chris is a Senior Research Fellow in Child Health at Peninsula Medical School in Exeter, running the Cerebra Research Unit which focuses on issues in childhood disability. Chris is also an Honorary Research Associate at the Department of Public Health, University of Oxford; and an Honorary Principal Orthotist at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.

Philip Salt

Philip is Chief Executive of Salts Healthcare, believed to be one of the oldest "family run" businesses in the country, and a leading manufacturer and supplier of health care products. Philip is a qualified orthotist, a member of the Council of the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA), and a keen rugby player.

Sandra Sexton

Sandra qualified as a Prosthetist/Orthotist in 1988 and is Deputy Director of the National Centre for Training and Education in Prosthetics and Orthotics at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.

She is involved in management, education and research with a special interest in outcome measurement in the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics.

Russell Williams

Russell is Managing Director of Thamert (UK) Ltd, the NHS supply company he founded in 1995 after a career of general management in both the public and private sector. Russell is a past Chairman of the Trust and has extensive knowledge and experience of orthotics within the UK healthcare industry.
