Chairman : Duncan Ferguson

Duncan is Director of Orthotics at Peacocks Medical Group, and a practising Orthotist in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle.

He has held senior positions within BAPO, ISPO UK and has actively promoted the education of Orthotists and Technicians.

Paul Horwood

Paul is the Orthotic Service Lead for the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, part of the Oxford University Hospital NHS Trust. Paul qualified as an Orthotist in 1986 and has experience in the commercial section as well as for the last 19 years within the NHS unit at Oxford.

Steve Hutchins

Steve is Senior Lecturer in Orthotics at the University of Salford and a registered Orthotist with HCPC having graduated as an Orthotist in 1978. He obtained an M.Sc in Orthotics by research in 1997 for the design of prototype orthotic knee joints to be used in prophylactic knee bracing.

Elaine Figgins

Elaine is currently the Director of the National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics at the University of Strathclyde. She started as a lecturer at Strathclyde in 1991, becoming a Senior lecturer in 1996 and Reader in 2006. She became the Undergraduate programme leader in 1999, heading the major review of the programme in 2006. Her clinical and research interests include the orthotic management of Arthrogryposis. Sheis a medical advisor for the Arthrogryposis Group (TAG) in the UK. She led the team who developed an HNC/HND for rehabilitation technical training for technicians and assistants in 2007. She was invited, and is a member of, the ISPO Education Category subcommittee.

Philip Salt

Philip is Chief Executive of Salts Healthcare, believed to be one of the oldest "family run" businesses in the country, and a leading manufacturer and supplier of health care products. Philip is a qualified orthotist, a member of the Council of the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA), and a keen rugby player.

Adrian Stenson

Adrian is the Managing Director of Blatchford Clinical Services, with responsibility for their clinical service provision (including orthotics) in the UK. He qualified as an Orthotist in 1986 and has worked in both the commercial sector and directly for the NHS.

Kay Purnell

Kay has worked within the orthotics industry for over 20 years after gaining a BA (Hons) Business Studies degree in Birmingham. Working with providers of both orthopaedic product and orthotic services. Kay has enjoyed a variety of roles within the commercial side of orthotics, is a member of the orthotic panel of the British Polio Fellowship and sits on the BHTA board of Directors.
